School Hall a credit to local Community

Kahibah Public School staff and students officially welcomed their newest addition to the school during a special ceremony recently.

The school hall, containing a stage, tired seating, toilet facilities and a servery was officially opened by Member for Charlestown Matthew Morris.

Mr Morris said the local community assisted with the construction, by providing $110,000 following the sale of the Kahibah Memorial Community Hall.

"The students will be able to use the hall both educational and extra-curricular activities including indoor sports, school performances and assemblies", Mr Morris said.

"It will also provide an additional safe learning environment for the students of Kahibah Public School.

"The State Government contributed a further $250,000 to the project".

Mr Morris said the hall was already being leased to gymnastics groups.

"This new facility, which I take much please in opening today, provides an opportunity for the staff to further develop the already impressive educational outcomes achieved by students at Kahibah Public School", Mr Morris said at the opening.
