The original Mothers Club was in operation when the P&C was inaugurated 1954-06-21. It changed name to Ladies Auxiliary on 1954-07-15 and was disbanded on 1978-02-16 due to lack of purpose and numbers. The P&C would take on the roll of running "Special Functions".

In January 1964 (1964-01) the school become a 2 department school (Primary & Infants). In December 1981 (1981-12) the Infants Department closed.


On 1965-05-04 the inaugural meeting of the Canteen was held. In 1986, owing to falling numbers attending meetings, the Canteen and School Club meetings were combined.

The Inaugural meeting of the Kahibah Infants School Mothers Club held 18th February 1964.

Inward Correspondence : Letters were received from Mrs Wells, Mrs Holmes apologising for their absence but assuring us of their support at any time.

General Business :

The new Headmistress welcomed all Mothers present and thanked the newly elected Officers.

 

Mrs Bailey then went on to outline her plans for improvements to the Infants School as follows.

The Improvement of class rooms by the addition of cloths to cover tables and piano. Each class to adopt a particular colour scheme on walls and book covers to give individuality.

Purchase of more books and equipment for use in the Library and class rooms to replace outdated equipment now in use.

The need for cooperation of Parent and Teacher. Mrs Bailey expressed the hope that Mothers would feel free to discuss with their child's teacher any problems which my arise.

The Improvement of the Infants School by addition of gardens, tended by the children.

Further discussion was on Improvements to the present monthly Tuck Shop. It was decided to use paper bags for Mothers to list what they feel the children will require for lunch.

 

2 (two) Mothers volunteered to come early on the Thursday of Tuck Shop collect the bags to be filled and given to children before recess.

Mrs Bailey offered to send out a notice with process and food available.

It was requested Mothers consider the danger of children buying bottled drinks. Alternative suggestions were, plastic drinking bottles or those contained in cardboard cartons.

Each Mother was requested to send to the school any containers suitable for holding paints. Three Mothers volunteered to spend time at the school painting sand trays and various other equipment.

The President then thanked Mrs Bailey.

The meeting closed 330pm (1530).

A new time of 130pm (1330) was put to the vote and by the show of hands was excepted. All future Mothers Club Meeting will begin 130pm (1330) on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.


Change of Name to Kahibah Infants School Club 1972-06-15

In the minutes of General meeting of Kahibah Infants School Mothers Club of 15th June 1972 (1972-06-15) in the General Business section, the following motion was passed.

"A motion was maned by Mrs Stevens and seconded by Mrs Williams to apply for Certificate of Exemption from Registration as a Charitable Organization and also to change our name from Kahibah Infants School Mothers Club to Kahibah Infants School Club".

At the following meeting on 1972-07-20 the new name was used.


Change of Name to Kahibah Public School Club 1981-10-29

On 1981-10-29 at 1300 a Special Meeting was held to discuss the Kahibah Infants School Club. At that meeting it was decided that it was to be renamed as Kahibah Public School Club. A tablecloth being the names of person active at the time of Kahibah Infants School. [1] [2]


Closure of Kahibah Public School Club 1998-01-05

On 1998-01-05 the final cheque was drawn by the Kahibah Public School Club. The cheque was for sporting equipment for the school. School Club sign c1990.

In 2005, all Minute Books for The Mothers Club / School Club for the period 1964-1979 have been donated to the University of Newcastle. They are held in the Archives of the Auchmuty Library. The books are available to be viewed but not borrowed.
