On 2006-12-16, the name of the school was listed in a database that was to be burned onto sheets. The sheets will be included on the obiter which will be placed into a polar orbit of the Moon. A participation certificate was issued to the school, as shown below.
This mission used to be called SELENE, short for the Selenological and Engineering Explorer. The mission name was changed to Kaguya, an enchanting lunar princess in the ancient Japanese folk tale "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" (Wikipedia).
Mission Participation Certificate dated 2006-12-16 [#1003191] was issued to the school (Planetary Society)
