Kahibah Public School
.... The Principal ....

Pam Richardson

Congratulation Pam Richardson.

Kahibah Public School is a warm caring school that works very closely with the whole  community, striving to provide best practice in every field of endeavour.

Our beliefs and values underpin our philosophy of nurturing the whole child to maximise student outcomes. We believe that education is about relationships, and through these, students come to understand their own worth and importance as human beings.

Students learn best when they feel safe and happy, when they have some control over their learning, when they are allowed to take risks and when they take ownership of their learning and their behaviour.

We encourage students to do quality work that takes time and effort and, as a staff, we constantly strive to improve our teaching practices so we are able to provide quality education and a meaningful curriculum.

Our school vision is "Working together to be the best we can be". To do this we have initiated a variety of programs which are academic, cultural, sporting and social and which cover the individual levels of all of our students.  From talented and gifted classes to reading recovery for children who experience difficulty, from national representation in sport to children who are learning basic movement skills, from current "A" Division debating winners to children who require speech therapy, we cater for all. We actually teach behaviour and we teach values. We also have a strong anti-bullying program which strengthens the victim and weakens the bully.

Our school is housed with highly competent, dedicated teachers who all work long hours to provide the best education they can. Every member of staff regularly undertakes professional development, constantly striving to stay in line with current teaching practice.

Our teachers know all of the children personally and they have developed strong relationships with the children to help them handle situations when they are not getting what they want.

Two of our staff members have been recognised with National Excellence in teaching awards and it is my belief that many more are deserving of such an accolade.
