"Last week every child in the school K-6 was involved in our community
tree planting program, led by "Trees in Newcastle". 1200 trees were
planted. The children were actively engaged in the whole process. They listened
very carefully to Ms Jenny Robinson, who gave a 1/2 hour workshop to each class
2 days prior to the planting, and she gave them a shorter review at the start.
The children knew exactly what to do and they were very professional and sincere
in their approach. That was our way of celebrating PUBLIC EDUCATION DAY.
We are certainly very proud of what out school has to offer and to work for
the community exemplifies us working together to be the best we can be. This
activity was covered on ABC Radio, 2NC 1233. we were on air for approximately 3
minutes with Murdo McLeod who also included many students in the
interview." extract from Kahibah Newsletter June 2003.
ABC 1233 sent along a reporter, Murdo McLeod. Pam Richardson, Rhiannon (yr
4), Paul, Geordi & Bradley from the school were interviewed. It was
broadcasted on ABC 1233 Mornings on Friday 2003-05-23.
